During nine days of hospital quarantine, scripture helped this pastor through recovery [Opinion]

I have known the desolating experience of suspected breast cancer that turned out to be tuberculosis, 12 months of chemotherapy, a follow-up procedure which lead to a punctured lung and the dreaded look of death that my physicians wore each time they entered my room where I was quarantined for nine days in hospital intensive care. I am a survivor of infectious disease.

Many of us are focused on the external reality of the new coronavirus and that is wise. More frequent handwashing, social distancing, covering our mouths and noses with tissue that we properly discard when coughing or sneezing — these are wise physical protocols but what about our mental protocol? Who and how will we be in the midst of all of this?
